There are tons of games which have followed GTA formula of storyline plus open world formula and we recommend you pick one and prep yourself for the ultimate show. So, here are some games to try while waiting for GTA 6:-

1. GTA Online (+GTA V story mode) still going strong

2. Red Dead Redemption 2 (highly recommended)

3. Watch Dogs 2 (You can try the latest too but watch dogs 2 with npc gang warfare was my favorite)

4. Red dead Redemption (The original RDR was amazing and I still play it occasionally)

5. GTA IV (Perhaps the most underrated GTA but its just great to play you will be surprised with the sense of humor on some of the characters)

6. Assassins Creed IV Black Flag (OH what a game!!!)

7. Metal Gear Solid V (Its a bit different than most of the titles in this list but good old snake never disappoints)

8. God Of War Ragnarork (MAMA MIA)

9. Marvel's Spiderman ( Both are very good)

10. Sleeping Dogs (A bit old but still has that zing)
